An Associate of Arts degree in
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies requires successful graduation from high school or a GED, 30 units of general education
study, 45 units of required Lower Division core courses (included within the Addiction
Studies Certificate program), and 15 elective units in a specialty:
- The general education requirement includes a minimum
of 5 units in each of the following areas for a total of 30 units:
- Communication
- Mathematics
- Humanities/Fine Arts
- Social Sciences
- Natural Science
- The required Lower Division core courses include those 45
units listed for the Addiction Specialist certificate program.
The additional 15 elective units may be chosen from one of
the following specialties:
- EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
- INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION
- CLINICAL SUPERVISOR COURSE
